Snorkeling Instruction and Guide


If you are coming to maui you know you want to snorkel the reefs. So if you're a little nervous because you've never tried snorkeling or have always had problems with it let us help. Discover Snorkeling is primarily for beginning snorkelers and free divers but our tips and assistance with fit, sizing and use of snorkeling equipment has been useful to those with more experience as well. Using the equipment the right way can make the difference in a good or great snorkeling experience. Do plan a snorkeling trip to Molokini but let us get you ready for it. When you go to the beach with us you'll be one of at most 6 people (with a private option) so you'll get all the attention you need. We'll get in the water with you and demonstrate all the necessary comfort techniques. Then we'll help you practice them until you are ready for the boats.

We meet at the beach at 6:30 in the morning. The program involves a brief introduction to gear use and fit, snorkel positioning, snorkel clearing, mask clearing, ear equalizing, movement in water and safety tips (about 20 min's + questions you might have). Then we'll give a dive site briefing (what kind of fish we'll see) and get in the water to show you the comfort skills. Then it's off to look for the turtles. Pricing Policy

We have set prices, which are adjusted annually after reviewing our expenses and the prices of several of our colleagues (Area dive shops and diving services companies). Some are posted in PDF format (price.pdf). Prices for each service differ depending on number of participants and level of privacy required. We keep our classes smaller than anyone else on the Island but many people still want more exclusivity. Therefore, open water classes of two persons have a set price. However, if one to two additional people join your class the price drops per person, which is why we do not charge the whole price of an open water class to your credit card until we are inside the no cancellation period of 48 hours. We also have private (one person exclusive) and semi private (2 to 3 person exclusive) rates. These prices guarantee no one else will join your party. Refund Policy

A 10% deposit or credit card confirmation is required to book the activity and is non-refundable after 72 hours prior to the activity. Within 48 hours prior to start time of the activity the full price of the activity is non refundable unless we (or you) can fill the vacancy. If the vacancy is filled, all but 4% of the price (as a service charge) will be refunded upon request. If the activity is canceled by the instructor and not rescheduled to the satisfaction of all involved, all but a 2% service charge (credit card sales) will be refunded upon request. Cancellation is usually but not necessarily due to inclement weather.
